Music Videos

I (Mike Slinn) currently sing all the parts in this video of the Ableton Live session for this song. Jaret Raven recorded me singing and playing the song using Ableton Live. was the audio engineer; he also quickly mixed this demo recording.

In the following video, the parts colored green are the only parts that I should sing. The pink parts are for a female singer, but for this demo I sang them as well.

If you are a female singer who would like to sing the pink parts of this song, please contact me; my coordinates are on the front page of this website. I would love to hear you sing it.

We (the World Peace Musical Collective) could record you in my Montreal studio, or you could record yourself in your own studio and send me the audio. If I like the result, then Jaret will mix in your audio and you will be credited as a singer.

Lyrics

Feels so right
With you
by my side
so true

Chorus:
Jump up and run towards me
You know I want you so bad
Jump up and run towards me
And I'll hug and squeeze you so hard

In your hair
Twined tonight
Some flowers rare
fragrant delight

Chorus

2025-07-29 Jaret Raven recorded me singing and playing all parts of the song. We made the above audio and video recordings on this date. The video recording was made with the intention of finding a female singer to sing the parts colored in pink.

1993-10-27 I wrote the lyrics while going through a long and painful divorce, initiated by my partner while I was healing from a car accident that nearly killed me, and the resulting failure of my business because I was mentally and physically incapacitated. The concussion I sustained from the accident lasted for over a year, and often the sentences I uttered were disjoint and did not make sense. During the long recovery process, I graduated to a wheelchair, and then to crutches by the time I wrote the melody and lyrics.

One day, as I was daydreaming about what a healthy relationship might be like for me, I imagined how it would feel to be in a warm and loving relationship. The lyrics wrote themselves in about 10 minutes.

I conceived of the song as a round. A musical round, also known as a perpetual canon, is a type of vocal composition where multiple voices sing the same melody but begin at different times, creating overlapping harmonies.

However, back then I did not know any female singers who could sing it properly, and I had no suitable recording equipment for me to record myself singing both parts. I was an emotional mess at the time, and I never got around to recording it.

I forgot about the song for a long time, along with all the physical and emotional pain that I felt at the time, but rediscovered it during COVID.

1989 I originally composed the music without any thought about lyrics. Conceived without conscious analysis, the song did not originally have a purpose; it was just an interesting piece of music.
